Man Held for Vishing Fraud :-

After eight months of tracking and data mining. City Cyber Crime Investigation Cell (CCIC) team arrested Ashok Kumar for a vishing fraud on Friday. DCP (Crimes) T. Ravi Kumar Murthy said that the 53 year old Ashok Kumar has been running Suraj Telecom Mobile Centre in New Delhi and provides Tata lndicom SIM cards to customers. Ashok Kumar also issued SIM cards to four more persons without verifying the facts. The police said that PBC Sekhar, resident of Beach Road had received a call on January 24 this year from an unknown number. The caller claimed himself as employee of ICICI Bank Credit Card Wing and cleverly obtained the details of Sekhar’s ATM Card number and OTP and made online shopping of Rs.4870/. The victim approached the CCIC and the cops arrested Ashok Kumar for selling SIM cards as the fraudster made call to Sekhar with a SIM card that was issued by Ashok Kumar.
