The city police nabbed a seven member gang on Tuesday, who cheated around 70 youth under the guise of providing government jobs and collected money from them. The arrested included an APSP 16th Battalion Constable while others were identified as P.Ramana, P. Sankara Rao, Srihari of Vizianagaram, K. Sunil Kumar of Visakhapatnam, A. KanthaRao and J. Police said that the members procured the original educational certificates of the candidates. But some candidate paid Rs.50,000 as an advance. The accused received the candidates at RTC complex day before exam in Vizag and kept them in Marripalem area. When the accused failed to provide an exam paper to the candidates, they told the candidates that they would make them pass in the exam using their influence. But on information, the Task force ACP Chitti Babu and his team arrested the accused and seized original certificates and Rs.21,000.
