IFR Rehearsals Enthral Public :-
The Eastern Naval Command (ENC), gave an opportunity to the local citizenry to experience the Fleet review at the rehearsals in the sea, off Vizag Coast on Tuesday, in the run-up to the IFR scheduled on Feb 6. ENC commander in chief Vice Admiral Satish Soni was the chief guest at the rehearsals, and reviewed the columns of warships on board the presidential yacht, INS Sumitra, in the place of president of India, the supreme commander of armed forces. Those on board the ships of the presidential column were in awe at the feat of the navy men standing on the ships decks and corners especially on INS Tarangini, saluting the supreme commander.
Supreme commander of the armed forces, President Pranab Mukherjee will embark on the Presidential yacht INS Sumitra, after inspecting the guard of honour presented by 150 naval personnel. The navy men standing on the anchored ships on both sides of the Presidential yacht would salute the president in a traditional way “Presidentji KI Jai” when the sumitra passes through in the sea. Vice Adminiral Satish Soni spoke on board INS Sumitra, after rehearsals of IFR. He said 50 countries have already confirmed their participation in the International event. During the rehearsals on Tuesday, the helicopters of Indian navy, coast guard have exhibited their talent including the rescue demonstrations by the naval personnel from a chetak helicopter thrilling the audience. Mr Satish Soni said that main idea of conducting the IFR is to unite the navies through the ocean.
