Excise Inspector Suspended for Pilferage of Ganja :-
Deputy commissioner of prohibition and excise, Visakhapatnam Vivekananda Reddy on Saturday suspended Inspector of Narsipatnam M. Jaganmohan Rao for pilferage of over 12,000 kgs of ganja worth 6 crores in the market which was seized from the smugglers in the last 15 months. Jaganmohan Rao had been posted as Inspector of Prohibition and Excise, Narsipatnam station in the district around 18 months back after former Inspector of Narsipatnam Abdul Kaleem was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau officials for accepting 1 lakh bribe in November 22, 2013 from a liquor business. Jaganmohan Rao seized tonnes of ganja and arrested several ganja smugglers in the past few months and he is due to retire after 15 months. Ganja will be stored in the excise stations in different places according to the jurisdiction of the seizure, until the cases are disposed in the courts.
